Please familiarize yourself with the following components of our service until you have your Quick Start Package in hand.

Quick Start Package
Your package will contain the Quick Start Guide and KeyCard, which is your access to vehicles. As per your application, your package is either on its way to you via post to your home or waiting at our office for you to pick up during Quick Start Hours. If you can’t remember what option you chose on your application (mail or pick up) email info@autoshare.com and we will let you know.

Please remember that you will need to have your Driver’s License with you as identification when picking up your package and it will only be given to you or your Associate Member (if you applied as a Household account)

Online Reservation Site
Please bookmark: https://reserve.autoshare.com as this is where you will be able to make reservations as well as update your AutoShare account. Please wait until you have your KeyCard in hand before making a reservation.

 

Member Info - AutoShare’s online Member’s Information Area

  • To access the Member’s Info Area, login to the Reservation Site and find the link in the upper right.
  • This area allows you to access member specific information including the latest News, Rates, Promotions, Helpful Documents, Forms and Newsletters.

You‘ll have a richer AutoShare experience if you read the Newsletter that is emailed every month and also available online in the Member Info area.

 

Your Login & Password

Your Login ID is your Member number (including any "-2" etc., if applicable).

Use the Password you chose when you applied online. If you forgot your Password, go to the login page, click on "I forgot my Password. Please email it to me". Enter your login (member #). Click "Reset". A link will be sent to your email address.

 

Insurance Deductible
The standard deductible for at-fault accidents is $750. Remember you can be responsible for damage for 'bad-luck' like having a rock hit the windshield or getting 'hit-and-run' in a parking lot. AutoShare provides you with options to reduce your deductible to $0:

  • Members with eligible Canadian Gold or Platinum VISA cards can take advantage of the provided $0 Deductible Collision Damage Insurance.
    To enroll, please download the VISA Zero Deductible form and either mail or fax (416.340.0080) it back to us.

  • AutoShare members with eligible Gold or Platinum Canadian MasterCards from Citi, CapitalONE, MBNA, CIBC World and Bank of Montreal Mosaik can take advantage of the provided $0 Deductible Collision Damage Insurance.
    To enroll, please download the MasterCard Zero Deductible form and either mail or fax (416.340.0080) it back to us.

  • Members can pay a $65 annual fee to have their collision damage deductible reduced to $0. To enroll, please sign up via My Account and the Summary tab in the AutoShare reservation site.

Invoicing & Rate Plans
With our Pay-As-You-Drive system, your credit card will be billed after every trip that you take. You’ll still get a detailed invoice of driving and payments, the following month. There are three different rate plans available to AutoShare members. You can switch plans anytime online, with the new plan starting the 1st of the next month.

Reservation, Reporting & Emergency Hotline 416.840.4444:
Our Hotline is available 24 hours a day. A Booking Fee of $2.50 applies to new and 'change' reservation transactions made through an operator including extending or returning your reservation early.

You don't get charged for asking a question. The call is free to report an issue, clarify which vehicle you have booked at what time, how to find the parking lot,etc.

Save the Booking Fee by doing transactions for new reservations; reservation changes; extending or returning early via smartphone, computer, and through the ComUnit in the vehicle.

 

AutoShare Fleet
-Each vehicle is numbered. You make your reservation by requesting a particular vehicle and by getting a Reservation Confirmation. At pickup, you will see the vehicle number in the front window as well as AutoShare logos on the side and back of the vehicle.

  • The Map function lets you search & choose vehicles using a Google map-based function.
  • The Home ‘profile’ is based on your address when applying. You can create several ‘profiles’ like home, work, etc…
  • You can also Search by Address, Neighbourhood or TTC stop, which is especially useful if you are trying to find a car in an area where you aren’t familiar with our vehicles.

 

Making a New Reservation

The Reservation Hotline number and your member number are on your KeyCard. Always have your KeyCard with you, you will need it to access our vehicles. To complete a new reservation login to the Reservation Site.

From the New Reservation screen, fill out the "Check Availability" queries to find out which vehicles are available.

  • Search (from a profile-location or address, with vehicle amenities)
  • Select from the list or map (choosing an available vehicle)
  • Review the trip details in the pop-up box. You get an estimated cost for the trip (based on a ‘guess’ that you may drive 10kms for each hour reserved up to 150 kms per day) – we will reconcile your actual costs on your monthly invoice. Read More
  • Reserve your trip and receive a Reservation Confirmation with your unique vehicle number, along with the vehicle make, model and colour.

Once you make a reservation you will receive a confirmation via email. This page will include details about vehicle access, location and other important information.

 

Confirmed Reservation Details:
Knowing your confirmed reservation details is crucial. When booking over the phone, the operator will read a confirmation to you over the phone. If you booked online you’ll get a confirmation screen, please pay close attention to:

  • Reservation Details; dates, times, and especially Vehicle ID #.
  • Reservation ID Number
  • Vehicle Specific Messages

Bring your reservation details with you (including the reservation confirmation number) to ensure a successful trip and avoid courtesy charges.

KeyCard:

-

The KeyCard is your access into our vehicles. Find the checkpoint reader located on the driver’s side of the windshield and hold your KeyCard against it for a few seconds until the lights flash green. The car doors will open with a beep and you are ready to start your reservation. The Keys will be inside the vehicle tethered around the ignition area. If you leave the vehicle unattended during your reservation, you must use your KeyCard to lock the doors and not the vehicle remote, buttons. When you return, present your card at the Checkpoint reader to log back in and continue with your reservation.

Be sure to remove the keys from the ignition before exiting the vehicle and present your KeyCard at the checkpoint. The lights will flash green and car doors will lock. You have now been logged out and our system recorded the vehicle as returned.

 

ESSO Gas Cards-

There is an Esso Gas Card in Comunit. Please fill the tank up to full. The card works for purchases of Windsheild Wiper Fluid too. There are full instructions and a list of Esso stations in Toronto in the Drive Guide in the vehicle's glove box. Purchases at the pump are not supported - members will have to pay the cashier inside.

The Golden Rule:
It is your responsibility to return the vehicle to the correct location, by your reservation end time, and in the same condition as you picked it up in, and to immediately notify AutoShare of any issue that affects driveability, damage or cleanliness. Failure to do so may result in courtesy fees being assessed.

Courtesy Charges
A complete list of charges is available here. Charges include penalties for:

  • Smoking
  • Pets without Pet Form completion
  • Car cleanliness
  • Late returns
  • No Reservation for the vehicle or time period (taking the wrong car)

What is in the car:
Glove box: Drive Guide, Insurance, Registration and collision reporting forms
Winter: ice scarper and/or shovel

Leaving the vehicle
Please make certain:

  • All of the lights, inside and out, are OFF
  • All of the doors are locked (including rear hatch, if any)
  • Windows are rolled up.
  • The key is put securely back in the lock box or Removed from the ignition in KeyCard vehicles
  • The vehicle, the key and the lock box are ready for the next member to use

Touch Tone System & PIN

Use the PIN you chose when you applied online.Touch-Tone option to Extend or Return Early. This will save you the Booking Charge.

 

5 Easy Steps to Update/Reset Your PIN

1 - Click on My Account

2 - Click on Password

3 - Locate the PIN field

4 - Enter a 4-digit number into the field and click Save Changes

5 - See that your changes have been saved



Car Washing
You MUST leave the car interior clean for the next member. You’ll be reimbursed for car washes (up to $25, plus a $5 credit).

 

Pet Policy
Travelling with a pet is a serious responsibility. Make certain to abide by the policy as set out in the AutoShare Pet form (available online or from the office).

 

 

 

Cancellation Policy
What is a cancellation?
A cancellation is defined as cancelling a whole reservation or any portion of reserved time (by changing the reservation or shortening it).

Why do we have a cancellation fees?
That's to encourage members to only make reservations they actually need, so the cars will be available when you need them. You would not want cars in your favourite locations booked months in advance for every Saturday all day and then the car gets cancelled or just driven for 1 hour. It would make planning your trip in advance very inconvenient and would negatively affect the availability of cars for members who really do want to book in advance.
